In the PASTEL page from before, I wrote about the unique and strange effects which are born when combining Japanese rice paper with pastel. The only reason why I decided to use Japanese rice paper was to use it as one tool to express my "identity". The paintings shown here not only include Japanese rice paper and pastel. This time I also worked with the acrylic paint to create a kind of watercolor effect. The Japanese rice paper soaks in the acrylic with the effect of a watercolor paint leaving a dense impression. The subjects I pulled are from the book, "Figure Drawing". I am left with the thought of whether I should have made the paintings a little more abstract, but I cannot help being attracted to the smooth lines the body expresses.
