Charcool 18X24

 
Charcoal is one of my favorite media of art. When drawing humans, the lines which express movement can be represented by the weak and strong lines of the charcoal. The shading is also unique when using charcoal. In the sketches below, I did not draw in any emotion, but from the attitude of the bodies, the emotions can be predicted. I believe that this is one of the benefits of using charcoal. 

Charcoalは、絵を描くときの私の好きな道具のの一つである。 人物を書く時、体の動きのあるラインや身体をかたちどるラインに とても惹かれるのであるが、そのラインをCharcoalの強弱であらわすことができる。また、陰影を付けるときも微妙な濃淡をあらわせる。下記の作品に は、顔の表情は、ほとんど書きこまれていない。けれども、体の動きや、姿勢から、感情を予感することができるのは、Charcoalの持つ滑らかな素材の力 なのではないかと思う。
